Illinois is working on building its 2022 hoops class, picking up a commitment from a three-star guard on Wednesday.

According to Derek Piper with 247 Sports, Illinois has picked up a commitment from shooting guard A.J. Storr out of Arizona Compass Prep. Storr’s mother confirmed the commitment.

Storr is rated as a three-star recruit and the No. 22 SG nationally by 247 Sports. Listed at 6-foot-5, he has nice size and length to play on the wing at the next level. He had also received offers from Ole Miss, Iona, IUPUI, and Chicago State, among others.

Storr becomes the second commit for head coach Brad Underwood’s 2022 recruiting class. Three-star shooting guard Reggie Bass out of Tennessee is the other player currently committed to the Illini for the class of 2022.

As things currently stand, Illinois holds the No. 26 recruiting class nationally and the No. 7 class in the B1G for the cycle. It will be interesting to see how Underwood and company add to it throughout the year.
