Illinois adds to strong recruiting weekend with commitment from in-state Edge prospect
Illinois is working to build out its 2023 recruiting class under head coach Bret Bielema. Over the weekend, the Illini added a pair of commitments with the latest coming from an in-state prospect.
The first commitment of the weekend came from Rico Jackson. Jackson is a 3-star offensive tackle out of Florida with a big frame at 6-foot-6 and 295 lbs.
On Sunday evening, Edge prospect Pat Farrell also committed to Illinois:

Farrell is a 6-foot-5 and 235 lbs. Edge prospect out of St. Rita in Chicago, Illinois. He is not ranked by the composite rankings but 247 Sports rates Farrell as a 3-star recruit. Farrell is also rated the No. 27 player out of Illinois for the class of 2023.
Illinois is now up to 6 commitments for the class of 2023 as we head into the first full week of June. That group currently ranks 38th in the country and is headlined by 4-star ATH Kaden Feagin.
