The State Farm Center can be one of the most intimidating atmospheres in college basketball when it’s rocking. That will be the case for at least two games during the Illinois hoops season.
Wednesday night, Illinois announced that two games for the men’s basketball season have already sold out. A non-conference home game against Pac-12 power Arizona and a B1G showdown against Michigan.
Illinois will welcome Arizona to the State Farm Center on Dec. 11 and will host Michigan on Jan. 14.

Because of how the 2020-21 B1G season played out, there’s a little bad blood between Illinois and Michigan on the hardwood. The Wolverines were named the B1G regular season champion with a 14-3 record, amassing the top winning percentage in the conference.
However, Illinois played all 20 B1G games and finished with a 16-4 mark — posting more wins than anyone in the league and winning a head-to-head bout against Michigan. Still, the Illini didn’t get a share of the crown.
It should set up an incredible atmosphere in Champaign this winter.
