Illinois announced that former Fighting Illini center and current vice president of player development for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Duke Preston will be their honorary captain for Monday’s Reliaquest Bowl against Mississippi State.

Preston was a 3-year starter for Illinois and a 5-year NFL veteran. He was selected in the 4th round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He later played for the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.

Illinois should be in for a good one against the No. 22 Bulldogs. The game is set to kick off at Noon Monday and will be aired on ESPN2.
