Another member of Illinois 2021-22 squad has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Matt Zenitz of On3 is reporting that senior guard Jacob Grandison has decided to explore his options outside of Champaign. He spent the past three seasons with the Fighting Illini after transferring in from Holy Cross.

Grandison initially entered his name into the NBA Draft. However, he decided to withdraw his name and appeared ready for a return to Illinois for the upcoming season.

Grandison proved to be an effective scorer for the Illini last season, especially from behind the 3-point line. He shot 41% from deep last season while averaging 9.6 points per contest. He was a key piece for a team that won a B1G regular season title.

Along with averaging just under a double-figure scoring total, Grandison also posted 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.

Over his four years on the floor, Grandison is averaging 9.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest. He’s appeared in 124 games and made 90 starts. He’ll have one year of eligibility to use at his next destination.
