Illinois' Brad Underwood tossed from Ohio State game, said he didn't deserve second technical
Brad Underwood admitted that he was trying to earn his first technical foul in Thursday night’s heavyweight bout between No. 22 Ohio State and No. 15 Illinois, but he says he didn’t deserve the second, which resulted in an ejection.
Underwood was tossed from the game with just over 6 minutes to play, saying he was fighting for every foul call on Kofi Cockburn and frustrated when Trent Frazier was hit in the face and no whistle was blown. The Illinois head coach blasted the official, leading to his ejection.
Below is the clip of Underwood, who then fired up the crowd as he walked off the floor.

While Underwood’s fiery exit seemed to provide a spark, it wasn’t enough for Illinois. The Fighting Illini fell 86-83at home, now sitting 1 game back of first place in the B1G regular season standings.
After the game, Underwood said he “worked hard” to get the first technical foul. He says he didn’t deserve the second one.

Thursday night marked the first time Underwood has been ejected while serving as the head coach at Illinois. It’s not something he’ll likely make a habit of, but he certainly got fed up with some of the calls (or non-calls) in this particular contest.
Illinois is now 12-5 in the B1G with 3 games to play. The Fighting Illini close out the year with games against Michigan, Penn State and No. 25 Iowa.
