There’s a chance Illinois is shorthanded when it takes the floor against Iowa in the Top 25 showdown to close out the regular season on Sunday.

Speaking with reporters on Saturday, Illinois head coach Brad Underwood said Jacob Grandison is “day-to-day” with a shoulder injury. The senior guard will not meet with media on Saturday, a day before the Fighting Illini prepare to play Iowa.

Grandison did play for the Illini earlier this week in a 60-55 win over Penn State. He scored 8 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and had an assist in 28 minutes on the floor.

Grandison is averaging 10.3 points, 4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He’s also an efficient shooter, hitting 45.5% of his shots from the floor and 41% from 3-point range. The senior is also an 82.4% free throw shooter.

Additionally, Sunday will serve as Senior Day for Illinois. Underwood said that both Grandison and Kofi Cockburn have decisions to make when the season comes to a close. Both plan to go through Senior Day ceremonies on Sunday.

Iowa and Illinois are scheduled for an evening tip-off, with the game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and the contest airing on FS1.
