Brad Underwood’s staff in Champaign might look a little bit different now, but that hasn’t changed the mind of Brandin Podziemski, a member of the Illinois’ 2021 recruiting class. He still plans to suit up for the Fighting Illini this upcoming season.

Illinois has undergone some reshuffling of the staff recently, with Chin Coleman and Orlando Antigua both leaving the program to join John Calipari’s staff at Kentucky. Recently, Underwood hired former Fighting Illini player Chester Frazier to be an assistant.

Despite the changes, Podziemski is still prepared to make the trek to Champaign. The 4-star guard is excited for the next challenge.

“To put any rumors and/or speculation to rest, I am 110% committed to Coach Underwood, his staff, the University of Illinois and my future teammates therein,” Podziesmski wrote on Twtter. “I am blessed to have this opportunity and I’m excited to get to work.”

Podziemski was named Wisconsin’s Mr. Basketball after an outstanding high school season. He averaged over 35 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists per game and shot better than 60% from the floor and 43% from the 3-point line.

Podziemski had offers from Kansas, Kentucky, Marquette, Loyola-Chicago, Nebraska, Wake Forest and many others during the recruiting process.
