A member of Illinois’ 2021 recruiting class has accepted an invitation to play in the upcoming Polynesian Bowl.

Josh Kreutz, a 3-star center from Wilmette, Illinois, has accepted the Polynesian Bowl invitation, scheduled for Jan. 23, 2021. It will be played at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.

“I am very excited and blessed to play in this game with some off the best players in the nation,” Kreutz said, according to 247Sports. “It’s going to be fun.”

Kreutz is a 6-foot-2, 260-pound offensive lineman who ranks as the No. 30 player from the state of Illinois and is the No. 16 center in the class. He committed to play for the Fighting Illini in early July.

Kreutz is the son of Olin Kreutz, a member of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame. Olin was an All-American offensive lineman at Washington in the 1990s and was a six-time Pro Bowl selection while playing with the Chicago Bears.
