Bret Bielema has Illinois in a great position after six games. The defense has complimented how well the offense has played this season in Champaign.

The Fighting Illini are the only team in the FBS to not allow a touchdown at home. The most points that the defense has allowed to be scored on them at home is just six points. Iowa and Wyoming made two field goals each against Illinois.

Illinois shutout Chattanooga and held Virginia to three points in its two other home games.

Besides preventing opposing teams from scoring, Illinois is also dominating in other defensive stats. The Fighting Illini have allowed 8 points per game which leads the B1G. The defense is also allowing 228 total yards per game (2nd in B1G).

Ryan Walters’ defense will be tested against Minnesota. The Golden Gophers have one loss as well, but have averaged the second-most offensive yards per game in the B1G with 495.2.

Minnesota-Illinois starts at noon ET on BTN this Saturday.
