Illinois is 2-2 this season after winnings its first two games of the year.

The last two, which may have been losses, have resulted in a three-point loss to Eastern Michigan and a four-point loss to Nebraska two weeks ago. Last week, the team had a bye. Illinois is hanging in there, but losing close ones.

For Week 6, the Fighting Illini have to travel to take on an undefeated Minnesota team. If Illinois wants to get to six wins and become bowl eligible this season — which may help coach Lovie Smith in more ways than one — a victory over the Golden Gophers would make a massive statement.

Ahead of the game, on Friday, Illinois showed off its uniform combo:

The Illini are going with a blue-white-blue look from the helmet down. This may not feature a bunch of orange, like we’re accustomed to seeing, but this look is a pretty sweet one.

What do you think, Fighting Illini fans?
