Illinois hoops lands pledge from Class of 2024 CG out of California
Illinois basketball landed a pledge from Class of 2024 3-star combo guard Jase Butler.
Butler hails from The Branson School in San Francisco, California and stands at 6-4, 180 pounds. He chose the Illini over offers from Drake, Colorado State, Cal State Fullerton and more.
He’s the 3rd prospect to commit to Brad Underwood’s 2024 class, joining 4-star power forward Morez Johnson and 3-star power forward Jason Jakstys.

Butler was only recently offered by the Illini after taking an official visit to Champaign on September 22. He was formally offered by Illinois on Sept 28 and less than a week later has pledged his commitment for next season.
Butler is considered to be the No. 189 prospect in the country according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s also rated as the No. 24 CG and No. 20 player out of the state of California.
