Illinois junior forward Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

On Wednesday, 247Sports reported that Bosman-Verdonk entered his name into the portal and will begin searching for a new home outside Champaign. He played in 24 games last season and made 2 starts.

The Fighting Illini won a share of the B1G regular season title, finishing with a 15-5 record. Bosman-Verdonk averaged 2.1 rebounds and 1.6 points per contest.

Bosman-Verdonk becomes the fourth player since the conclusion of the 2021-22 season to enter the transfer portal. Others included Omar Payne, Andre Curbelo and Brandin Podziemski. Additionally, Kofi Cockburn has declared for the NBA Draft.

Jacob Grandison and Austin Hutcherson also declared for the NBA Draft, though there’s a chance that one or both return to Champaign for the 2022-23 season.

In three seasons at Illinois, Bosman-Verdonk appeared in 41 games. He scored 52 points, grabbed 64 rebounds and dished out 21 assists during his career with the Fighting Illini.
