Illinois kicker Chase McLaughlin is one of three kickers honored following an outstanding Week 3 performance.
On Monday, McLaughlin was one of three kickers in college football to be named the Lou Groza Award Kickers of the Week, joining Missouri’s Tucker McCann and LSU’s Cole Tracy.
McLaughlin knocked home all four of his field goal attempts in Illinois’ game against USF on Saturday. He also converted an extra point.

Most of McLaughlin’s attempts weren’t chip shots on Saturday, as he booted several long field goals through the uprights.
McLaughlin converted on kicks of 26 yards, 46 yards, 53 yards and 41 yards. He helped the Illini build a 19-7 lead through the third quarter before Illinois surrendered 18 points in the final 15 minutes.
For the season, McLaughlin has been successful on 7-of-8 field goal attempts and has converted on all nine extra point tries.
