A talented wide receiver out of Jacksonville, Florida is the latest recruit in the 2021 class to commit to Illinois. The Fighting Illini landed the pledge from Patrick Bryant on Sunday.

Bryant, a three-star wide receiver, had offers from 31 programs during the recruiting cycle. He picked Illinois over other Power Five programs such as Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Miami, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State and others.

Sunday afternoon, Bryant announced his commitment with a video on Twitter. He’s now the seventh player to commit to Lovie Smith and the Fighting Illini.

Bryant is listed as a 6-foot-3, 187-pound wide receiver at Atlantic Coast High School. He’s a two-sport athlete at the high school level, also playing basketball.

Over the last two seasons on the gridiron, Bryant has hauled in 84 catches for 1,319 yards and 16 touchdowns. His numbers were particularly strong during the 2019 campaign, totaling 45 receptions for 684 yards and 11 scores.

With Bryant’s commitment, Illinois ranks 69th nationally in the 2021 recruiting rankings, per 247Sports. The Illini are still last in the B1G.
