Illinois lands commitment from in-state 2019 WR out of Chicago
In order to turn things around, the Illinois Fighting Illini need to recruit the state of Illinois better, and particularly the Chicago area.
On Monday night, they took a big step in that direction, picking up a commitment from 3-star WR Fabian McCray.
As you can see below, McCray announced his decision to head to Champaign on his Twitter page on Monday evening:

According to the 247Sports composite, McCray is the No. 109 wide receiver in the class of 2019 and the No. 17 overall recruit from the state of Illinois.
The Illini now have eight players in their 2019 class, which currently ranks No. 12 in the Big Ten and No. 51 in the nation, per 247Sports.
