Illinois has made a big addition to its 2020 recruiting class. Literally.

On Thursday, 7-foot center Brandon Lieb announced his commitment to Illinois as a member of the 2020 recruiting class. He committed less than 48 hours after receiving an offer from Brad Underwood and the Fighting Illini, according to 247Sports.

Lieb made his announcement on Twitter. He picked Illinois over offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Utah and DePaul, among other programs.

“I’m thrilled to announce I’ve made my college decision. I’d like to thank Coach Underwood, Coach Coleman and the entire staff for giving me this opportunity,” Lieb wrote on Twitter. “I’m extremely excited to announce that I’ll be continuing my academic and basketball career at the University of Illinois!!!”

According to 247Sports, Lieb averaged 13.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks as a senior during the 2019-20 season. He brings great size to the Illinois roster.

Lieb is the latest addition to an incredibly strong 2020 recruiting class for the Illini. He’s the fourth high school prospect to commit to the program for 2020, joining top 50 prospects Adam Miller and Andre Curbelo. Illinois also received a pledge from top 150 talent Coleman Hawkins.

Illinois’ 2020 recruiting class ranks 15th nationally and third in the B1G.
