Illinois LB Jake Hansen releases statement following season-ending knee surgery
Illinois senior linebacker Jake Hansen released a touching statement after sustaining a season-ending knee injury. Hanson posted the statement on his Twitter account:

“I will look back on my time here with no regrets and will continue to cherish every moment I enjoyed here,” Hansen said. “With that said I look forward to pursuing my life long dream of playing in the NFL!”
Hansen amassed 18 solo tackles, a sack, and two forced fumbles this season. For his college career, Hanson totaled 145 solo tackles, eight sacks, 12 forced fumbles and three interceptions.
Illinois is 2-5 overall and currently sixth in the B1G West. Illinois is coming off a 24-0 shutout loss to Wisconsin in Week 6. Next up for Illinois is a road contest at No. 7 Penn State on Oct. 23 (12 p.m. EST/ABC).
Penn State leads the all-time series 20-5 and is on a three-game winning streak vs. Illinois.
