Illinois legend returning to Memorial Stadium for Friday night clash vs. Maryland
Illinois will be welcoming back a familiar face to Memorial Stadium on Friday night against Maryland.
Legendary wide receiver Arrelious Benn will be in the house when the 2 teams square off as Illinois put out a tweet with Benn in the video.
In the video, Benn says, “What’s going on Illini Nation, its Arrelious Benn here. I’m here on campus back for Friday night light football. I look forward to seeing you guys at the game. Let’s pack the stadium tonight and one time for Illini Nation: I-L-L.”

Benn played for Illinois from 2007-09 and had 3 outstanding seasons. His best one came in 2008 when he finished with 67 catches for 1,055 yards and 3 touchdowns.
He also averaged over 15 yards per reception that season. Overall, Benn finished with 159 catches for 1,221 yards and 7 touchdowns for the 3 seasons that he played there.
Kickoff between the Terps and Fighting Illini will be at 9 p.m. ET.
