There may not be a hotter team in college basketball right now than Illinois. The Fighting Illini have closed out the regular season on a four-game winning streak, which includes victories over ranked opponents No. 25 Wisconsin, No. 2 Michigan and No. 7 Ohio State.

Illinois closed out the season with a big road win on Saturday, defeating the Buckeyes 73-68 in Columbus. It was the first game back for Ayo Dosunmu, who suffered a face injury in the team’s loss to Michigan State two weeks ago.

After the game, the Illini locker room was going nuts, celebrating a four-game winning streak and no in the mix for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. They are also the No. 2 seed in the B1G Tournament next week.

Here was the team’s reaction on Saturday:

Illinois has improved to 20-6 on the year and rounded out B1G play with a 16-4 record. In addition to the four-game winning streak, the Illini have won 11 of their last 12 games.

Brad Underwood’s team is playing its best at the right time.
