The 6-foot-7, 195-pound Rodgers is regarded by 247Sports as the No. 1 player from Illinois, the No. 16 overall small forward, and the No. 53 player in the nation. Rodgers selected Illinois over offers from Alabama, Florida State, Houston, and Louisville amongst others.
Rodgers explained why he decided to chose Illinois.
“Illinois felt like family to me pretty quickly,” Rodgers said via the Chicago Sun Times. “I love it here and how everyone loves Illinois around here. It was a fun but stressful process, so there is some relief in having my decision.”
No. 10 Illinois is currently 2-1 overall and faces Cincinnati on Nov. 22 (6:30 p.m. EST/ESPN News).
