Bart Miller joined Illinois as its offensive line coach in 2020 following a stint at Wyoming. This is his 2nd time on Bret Bielema’s staff, as he had a similar role in 2012 at Wisconsin.

Miller spoke on the ‘Illini Inquirer Podcast’ with Joey Wagner of 247Sports about what recruiting has been like around the B1G. He has coached the likes of Vederian Lowe, Doug Kramer, and Alex Palczewski during his time in Champaign.

Here’s what the Fighting Illini OL coach had to say about recruiting in B1G country since he’s been there:

“Much had been made about recruiting the state than the previous staff and things of that nature,” said Miller. “It’s been very positive in Illinois. Our connections in Wisconsin and our connections in Minnesota and some of the surrounding midwestern states has been a welcome site to see us walk in there. Mostly because we haven’t been in previous staffs. That block ‘I’ is now invading Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indiana. We’re certainly going to have a presence in those states, and our home state of Illinois. It’s been overwhelmingly positive.”
