An Illinois offensive lineman has decided to play his final season of college football elsewhere.

Monday, redshirt junior Adam Solomon announced his decision to transfer from Illinois and pursue other opportunities. He played in 10 games for the Illini in 2018, mostly on special teams.

Solomon made the announcement via his Twitter account. He thanked his coaches, friends, family and fans in his message.

Solomon will be immediately eligible to participate next season as a graduate transfer. He did not provide any indication where he could land.

Solomon was recruited by former head coach Tim Beckman and chose Illinois over Purdue, Indiana, Kentucky and Minnesota, among others.

In 2017, Solomon made five appearances and earned one career start. He was an Academic All-B1G selection in 2016 and 2017.
