Illinois OL enters NCAA transfer portal after 3 seasons with Illini
Josh Plohr appears to be looking for opportunities elsewhere after 3 seasons at Illinois. The Illini offensive lineman has reportedly entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

It’s a busy time in the transfer portal, with a deadline approaching. To play in 2022 without a waiver, players must be in the portal by May 1. They can transfer after that date as long as they have entered the portal.
Entering the transfer portal does not bind a player to leave a program, but allows the player to be contacted and recruited. Occasionally, players withdraw from the portal and rejoin the team. Schools, however, are not obligated to keep players on scholarship once they have entered the portal.
Plohr signed with Illinois in 2019, redshirting his first year on campus. He played in 2 games as a redshirt freshman in 2020 but did not make an appearance last year.
