Illinois’ in-state recruiting picked up a huge victory on Wednesday.

Kaden Feagin, a 4-star athlete out of Arthur, Ill., announced on Wednesday that he has committed to Illinois. He was holding offers from 13 total programs, picking the Fighting Illini over programs such as Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Rutgers, Indiana and Minnesota out of the B1G.

Other programs to extend offers included Notre Dame, Duke, Miami, Missouri and Tennessee.

Feagin is listed as a 6-foot-3, 221-pound athlete on 247Sports’ recruiting page. He’s listed as the No. 29 athlete and No. 6 prospect out of Illinois for the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Feagin is the first player in the 2023 recruiting cycle to commit to the Fighting Illini. It’s a huge victory for Bret Bielema and his staff, who are looking to put a heavy emphasis on in-state recruiting.

Getting a pledge from a 4-star athlete with several high-level offers is a great start to the 2023 class for Illinois.
