Brandon Peters was carted off the field after a big hit in the first quarter against the Huskers.

Peters looks like he has an apparent shoulder injury after sustaining the hit. He was carted back to the locker room and his status is uncertain for the remainder of the contest.

Peters last season played in 5 games for the Illini, where he completed 39 passes on 80 attempts, 48% for 429 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Artur Sitkowski, the transfer from Rutgers, has come in as the backup for Peters. Sitkowski, last season for the Scarlet Knights, played in 4 games and completed 52 passes on 82 pass attempts, 63% for 444 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Illini last season was 2-6 and finished 7th in the B1G West.

The Huskers are up 6-2 on the Illini early in the second quarter.
