Illinois running back Kenyon Sims has officially entered the transfer portal, according to Jeremy Werner of 247Sports.

According to Werner, Sims is no longer on the team and can transfer to any school that he wishes to go to.

Sims was recruited in the class of 2018 and according to his 247Sports page, he was a three-star prospect and the 1,402nd ranked player nationally. His 247Sports composite ranking was 0.8377.

He also was considered a top 200 player in California at the time and a top 100 running back in the nation for all high school players.

At Illinois, he didn’t log any games this season but in 2019, he had 14 rushes for 52 yards with his longest run being 13 yards. In his freshman season (2018), he only had two carries for four yards.

He’s definitely going to want a lot more playing time for whichever school he decides to transfer to.
