Illinois RB Mike Epstein posts positive message following surgery
Mike Epstein’s season was cut short again this year, suffering a knee injury in the opener against Akron. One of the top running backs in the locker room, it was a huge loss for the Illini.
Recently, Epstein underwent surgery for the knee injury and will now begin the recovery process. Following the surgery, Epstein tweeted out a positive message to assure fans that everything went according to plan. One of his nurses was even an Urbana native.
“Successful surgery,” Epstein wrote on Twitter. “Thank you God. In Pensacola, Florida & Illini Nation is everywhere. This nurse grew up in Urbana and wanted me to feel at “home.” Major love.”
