One Illinois RB and a key piece to the offensive attack is officially listed as questionable for the Week 5 game vs. Purdue.

The Illini released their B1G-mandated availability report ahead of kickoff, and starting running back Reggie Love III is listed as questionable for the matchup. Love leads Illinois in carries, rushing yards and efficiency to start the season.

Through 4 games, Love has 248 rushing yards and is averaging 5.6 yards per carry with a touchdown. Quarterback Luke Altmyer is the team’s second-leading rusher and leads the Illini with 3 rushing touchdowns.

If Love is limited or unable to go, Josh McCray is likely to be the go-to back against Purdue. McCray has 33 carries for 121 yards this season as the No. 2 option behind Love so far this season. The situation could also lead to more carries for Altmyer with the offense.
