Illinois walked into Camp Randall with one thing on its mind, and that was to steal a win from Wisconsin in its B1G home opener. The Fighting Illini also had the largest margin of victory against Wisconsin since 1988 with the 34-10 win.

Bret Bielema’s return to Wisconsin was met with boos from Badgers fans, and Illinois took that personally. Illinois blew Wisconsin out in front of its fans.

Tommy DeVito finished the game with 157 yards passing and 3 rushing touchdowns, that all came from QB sneaks. Chase Brown continued his dominance on the ground with 129 yards rushing and 1 touchdown that went for 49 yards.

Perhaps another big story other than the margin of victory was how the defense stunned Wisconsin. The Fighting Illini defense forced 2 interceptions from Graham Mertz and recovered a fumble to set the tone for the game.

Star Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen also had one of the worst performances of his career against Illinois. Illinois held Allen to 2 yards rushing on the game.

Illinois and Minnesota are one the only one-loss teams now that Purdue upset the Golden Gophers at home. The quest for a B1G West title gets closer and closer now.
