The regular season has come to a close on the 2021 college football season. Coaches have already started to move around even before the season came to a close. It will be interesting to see how many different players and coaches will be donning new colors in the fall of 2022.

Players have started to hit the transfer portal as their seasons came to an end on Saturday, and that is no different in the B1G.

Illinois DB Kendall Smith announced Monday morning he will be entering the transfer portal for his final season.

Smith spent 5 seasons with the Illini and will be a graduate transfer. In the 5 years with Illini, Smith recorded 31 total tackles, 17 of which were solo, 1 pass deflection and a fumble recovery.

He started as a WR before switching over to DB in his freshman season with the Illini.

Illinois under first-year head coach Bret Bielema finished just one game shy of bowl eligibility, they were 5-7 on the season, and 4-5 in B1G play.
The Illini finished the season on a high note as they throttled in-state rival Northwestern 47-14 winning the Land of Lincoln trophy.
