Illinois standout ranks first among Power 5 defensive backs in PFF grade
One Illinois cornerback has put the nation on notice with his performance so far this season. Devon Witherspoon has the highest PFF grade among all Power 5 cornerbacks with a grade of 86.9.

The junior has been locking down his matchups so far this season and has recorded 21 total tackles and 11 pass deflections. He has also picked up an interception.
Through his play on defense, Witherspoon has helped the Illini get off to a 6-1 start on the season. Illinois defense as a whole has been outstanding, allowing just 8.86 points per game, 77.9 rushing yards per game and 143.29 passing yards per game.
Illinois is certainly putting the nation on notice, and it will look to continue its 5-game win streak as the Fighting Illini take on Nebraska on the road on Saturday.
