Illinois now stands alone in one key area.

The Fighting Illini are the only team that has not allowed 21+ points in a single half. Michigan and Georgia were also on that list before Saturday when both teams allowed more than 21 points.

Georgia allowed the Buckeyes to score 28 points in the 1st half of the Peach Bowl and Michigan allowed TCU to score 21 in the 1st half in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Illini now hold the distinction of being the only team to not allow an opponent to score at least 21 points in a half for the 2022 season. Illinois will try to complete the year with that distinction in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Mississippi State.

The Bulldogs are in a tight battle with the Buckeyes and everything on the line in the Peach Bowl.

The Illini will face the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the ReliaQuest Bowl on January 2.
