Illinois center Kofi Cockburn is officially entering the NBA draft.

Cockburn announced that news on Sunday afternoon along with a message to Illinois fans:

“Illini nation, I can’t even begin to express how happy I am to be an Illini,” he wrote in-part. “You guys provided ultimate support and I have no regrets from choosing you.”

He did not specify whether or not he would be hiring an agent. Theoretically, Cockburn could still return to Illinois after going through the pre-draft process.

If this is the end of Cockburn’s collegiate career, it was a very productive one. As a sophomore this past season, Cockburn averaged 17.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest.

He was a key figure in Illinois’ run to the Big Ten Tournament Championship and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

According to The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie, Cockburn is a top-100 prospect in this draft. On this latest update from April 2, Vecenie ranked Cockburn at No. 87 in this class.

The NBA draft is on July 29.
