Illinois to hand out special mask in honor of former star Ayo Dosunmu
Illinois is handing out 5,000 special masks in honor of Ayo Dosunmu.
He wore the mask during parts of last season after he suffered a broken nose in February. It also caused him to go into concussion protocol and miss the next 3 games as a result.

Dosunmu will have a jersey-raising ceremony on Thursday night as his alma mater gets set to take on Maryland.
He will be the 34th player in school history to have his jersey put up to the rafters at State Farm Arena. He played with Illinois for three seasons (2018-2021) and averaged 16.7 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, and 3.9 assists per game.
His best season came in 2020-21 when he averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. That then led to the program getting a No. 1 seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
Dosunmu is currently playing for the Chicago Bulls and is averaging 6 points and 2 rebounds per game.
