Illinois updates Covid-19 policy for attending sporting events
Illinois is now changing its policy on how fans can attend games with a new variant of Covid-19 ramping up again.
Beginning on Jan. 6th, fans will now have to show a negative Covid-19 test or proof that they’ve been vaccinated if they want to attend winter sporting events according to Jeremy Werner of 247Sports.
Here’s how the university described what a winter sporting event is:
“All university-sponsored events open to the public with more than 200 people in attendance beginning January 1, 2022.”

Maybe more teams could change their policies to this as well for college winter sports. We’ll see if other teams follow Illinois’ lead as winter sports’ season continues to ramp up.
