An Illinois walk-on wide receiver has decided to transfer out of the program.

On Monday, Matt Judd announced that he plans to transfer from Illinois, citing personal reasons for his decision. He made his decision public via a Twitter post.

“Thankful to have been given the opportunity to compete at the University of Illinois this past season,” Judd said. “Due to personal reasons, I have entered the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility remaining. My recruitment is now open.”

Judd is a product of Frankfort, Illinois and was a walk-on in Illinois’ 2019 recruiting class. Because he was a walk-on, he can transfer to an FBS program and be granted immediate eligibility if he’s offered a scholarship.

Illinois finished the season 6-6 and will be going bowling for the first time since 2014.
