Illinois wide receiver Casey Washington spent two seasons in Champaign, and apparently that will be all. He has decided to enter his name in the NCAA transfer portal.

Washington revealed on Monday night that he intends to transfer out of Illinois after two years with the program. In his announcement on Twitter, the receiver said he will be immediately eligible for the 2021 season and will have three years left to play college football.

Because the NCAA granted a blanket waiver for all fall student-athletes, Washington will have the opportunity to have the additional year of eligibility.

As a high school prospect, Washington committed to Illinois as a 3-star member of the 2019 recruiting class. While he didn’t see a ton of targets during his time in Champaign, he was able to carve out a role in the offense.

In two years with the Illini, Washington totaled 21 catches for 238 yards. He also attempted one pass, but it resulted in an incompletion.

Washington held five FBS offers as a high school prospect out of Texas. He picked Illinois over Kansas, Tulane, South Alabama and UTSA.
