Illinois WR opts to hit NCAA transfer portal
An Illinois wide receiver has hit the NCAA transfer portal.
Dalevon Campbell has entered his name into the transfer database. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter. He was a member of the 2019 recruiting class and spent 3 seasons with the program before hitting the portal.
In 3 seasons at Illinois, Campbell was credited with 3 catches for 48 yards. He appeared in 12 games as a member of the Fighting Illini. The receiver will have 3 years of eligibility to use at his next destination.
“After talking with coaches and family, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility,” Campbell wrote on Twitter.

As a member of the 2019 recruiting class, Campbell was an unranked prospect out of Missouri City, Texas. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver was offered by only Illinois and took the opportunity to play in the B1G.
Now, he’ll look to continue his career elsewhere.
Illinois finished the 2021 season with a 5-7 record, falling a win short of bowl eligibility in Bret Bielema’s first year as the head coach in Champaign.
