Isaiah Williams will be returning to Champaign in 2023. The WR announced his decision on social media on Monday.

It’s a huge boost for the Illini offense, as Williams has led the team in receptions for the past two years. The WR also led the team with 709 receiving yards and 5 receiving touchdowns this season alone.

Throughout the year, Williams had three 100-yard receiving games, including a career-high 114 receiving yards in the matchup with Mississippi State.Williams originally played as a QB, and only switched to the WR position in 2021. Williams amassed 131 receptions, 1,243 yards and nine touchdowns since the switch.

With running back Chase Brown’s declaring for the Draft, Williams has the opportunity to lead the Illinois offense next year. Williams will join fellow captain linebacker Tarique Barnes, who is also returning to Champaign next season.
