'It's Bobby!': Illini include injured teammate Bobby Roundtree in postgame celebration after upsetting Wisconsin
Bobby Roundtree might not have been with his teammates physically on Saturday during Illinois’ upset win over No. 6 Wisconsin, but he was in Champaign in spirit. And after the stunning victory, he got a chance to celebrate the win with the guys.
On Thursday, Illinois Football shared a video of the Illini locker room following the 24-23 win. As you can imagine, it was a madhouse after winning the game on the leg of James McCourt, who drilled a 39-yard field goal.
After such a huge victory, the team wanted to have Bobby Rountree — the Illinois defensive lineman who was injured during a swimming incident over the summer — in the locker room. Using a phone, they were able to get him to the celebration in Champaign.
Roundtree’s teammates were even more fired up after he was able to get in on the celebration.
You knew we had to get @BobbyRoundtr97 in on the celebration.

What an awesome moment in Champaign.
Roundtree was seriously injured in a swimming accident that occurred in Florida during the summer. After the incident, Lovie Smith flew down to be with Roundtree in the hospital to show his support. At B1G Media Days, several Illinois players said they were dedicating this season to Roundtree.
They got a pretty big win for him last week.
