Jordyn Slaughter saw the field for Illinois this season for the first time since his season-ending injury in 2021. Slaughter announced what his plans are for 2023 on Saturday.

Slaughter played in all 13 games for Illinois in 2022. Slaughter has been with the Fighting Illini since 2018 and decided he wants to come back for another year. Slaughter broke the news via his Twitter account.

Slaughter isn’t the only Illinois OL who decided to come back for 2023. Isaiah Adams also announced that he plans on returning next season.

Slaughter started on the offensive line for Illinois for the first time since the 2020 season this year against Indiana. He also embraced his role as the team’s sixth man on the OL.

It’s a good thing that some of the pieces of Bret Bielema’s O-line are coming back. However, they will be blocking for a different running back next season as Chase Brown declared for the 2023 NFL Draft.
