Josh McCray had to be helped off the field Saturday in the Week 0 season opener between Illinois and Wyoming. The issue appears to be with McCray’s right now, and he is likely doubtful to return to action.
In the second half, McCray went down after what looked to be a hyperextended right knee. He was down on the field and had to be helped off and was unable to put weight on his right leg.

Later in the action, the Big Ten Network broadcast reported McCray had emerged from the injury tent but with a noticeable limp on his right leg. McCray also had an ice bag taped around his right knee.
Hopefully, McCray’s issue proves to be minor. He is the No. 2 back for the Illini behind starter Chase Brown.
