Kansas unveils sick ‘Blackhawk’ threads for Week 2 matchup against Illinois

Kansas is going to look a little different for its Week 2 home matchup versus Illinois next Saturday.
On Sunday, Kansas released a video on its Twitter page revealing the new ‘Blackhawk’ uniforms that feature a combination of black jersey, pants, cleats and helmets. The Jayhawks will also be rocking a unique logo.

Kansas kicked off its 2023 season on Friday night with a 48-17 win over Missouri State. The Jayhawks outgained the Bears in total yards accounted for 521-to-217. Kansas quarterback Jason Bean completed 22/28 of his passes for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns.
There is plenty to be excited about involving Jayhawks football. This past season, Kansas finished with a 6-7 overall record and a postseason bowl appearance in the 2022 Liberty Bowl. The Jayhawks lost to the Arkansas Razorbacks in a 55-53 thriller.
This Saturday will be the sixth-ever meeting between Kansas and Illinois. The last time the teams meet was in 1968 as Kansas would dominate Illinois 47-7. Before that game, the Jayhawks and the Fighting Illini hadn’t meet on the field since 1929. Illinois hold the series lead 3-2 over Kansas.
Illinois is coming off a 30-28 victory over Toledo on Saturday. Fighting Illini kicker Caleb Griffin drilled a 29-yard field goal with 5 seconds left in the game to escape what would have been an ugly start for Bret Bielema.
