Kerby Joseph is proving to be the definition of a ball-hawking safety. Despite being a rookie, Joseph has already made a big impact and is a key piece for the secondary of the Detroit Lions.

On Sunday, Joseph produced yet another takeaway. In the third quarter against the New York Giants, Joseph picked off quarterback Daniel Jones and produced a nice return up the field.

That interception gives Joseph 3 on the season after recording a pair of picks against Aaron Rodgers a few weeks before. He also has 2 forced fumbles on the year.

According to Illinois football, Joseph is the first NFL player to record at least 3 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles in his first 10 games since 2014.

Along with the takeaways, Joseph entered the weekend 5th on Detroit’s roster with 38 total tackles. Not a bad start to the year for the Illinois product.
