Kerby Joseph’s career season continued on Sunday with the Detroit Lions in Green Bay to face the Packers in an NFC North showdown.

Joseph, in his 3rd season out of Illinois, totaled 4 interceptions in each of his first 2 seasons. Coming into Sunday, he had 5 interceptions through 7 games.

That changed against the Packers, as Joseph not only hauled in his 6th interception, but took it to the end zone for his first career pick-6 to put the Lions ahead 17-3. Here’s video of the play:

Joseph is making a vigorous case for himself as an All-Pro safety. After showing steady improvement in his first 2 NFL seasons, he’s become one of the top players in the league at his position.

The Lions, meanwhile, are looking to not only repeat as NFC North champions and eventualy return to the NFC Championship Game, but claim the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl appearance. They’re off to a good start in 2024 as they’ve opened the season with a 6-1 record.

Terrific quarterback play from Jared Goff, along with strong defensive play, has been a hallmark of the Lions’ ascension into the NFL’s elite, and Joseph’s performance at safety has played as big a role in that as anyone else.
