College GameDay’s Kirk Herbstreit is predicting a B1G team falling in a massive Week 1 upset.

Illinois is riding high after a Week 0 victory vs. Nebraska. However, Herbstreit is going with the Group of Five’s UTSA to stun Illinois in Week 1.

This is the first meeting between Illinois and UTSA. This is also UTSA’s first matchup against a B1G program. Herbstreit outlines why UTSA isn’t a team to take lightly.

“I love Bret Bielema. Big win [last week over Nebraska]. Hard to get back up after such a big win and they’re playing a tricky team,” Herbstreit said. “UTSA, Sincere McCormick had a great year last year and he comes back. They can throw the football and they have a dual-threat quarterback in Frank Harris.”

Herbstreit also added that the season-ending injury for star linebacker C.J. Hart played a role in his prediction. Hart was named Bednarik Award Player of the Week for his performance vs. Nebraska.

Illinois-UTSA is slated today for a 7:30 p.m. EST kickoff and will be televised on the BTN.
