Laine Jenkins, a junior college pass rusher, has flipped his commitment from Oklahoma in order to play in the B1G.

Jenkins, who is listed at 6-foot-6 and 255 pounds, committed to Illinois as he already held offers from Iowa State and Indiana, and multiple reports suggested the former Oklahoma commitment had his offer with the Sooners pulled.

Jenkins played last season at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. In 5 games last year as a true freshman, he picked up 8 total tackles including 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, according to 247Sports.

Jenkins is a native of Willowbrook, Illinois and a Neuqua Valley High School graduate. He has 3 seasons of eligibility remaining.

Jenkins has the size to be able to put on more weight, and that would allow him to slide to the line, and offer future depth next to, and perhaps in place of, 5th-year junior Seth Coleman, a potential NFL prospect.
