Lovie Smith gives update on WR following surgery
Trevon Sidney spent his first two season in college at USC. He then transferred to Illinois to be a pass-catcher for the Fighting Ilini.
This season, he has caught 16 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. He had missed the previous two games with a leg injury, and on Tuesday morning, coach Lovie Smith announced the latest on Sidney:

Sidney is apparently missing the rest of the 2019 season. He joined the Fighting Illini as a graduate transfer and was a starter for the team up until suffering his lower leg injury.
He did not play in the team’s loss to Michigan or the shocking victory over Wisconsin. He has one season left of eligibility.
