Lovie Smith has a clear goal to finish Illinois' non-conference schedule
Illinois wasn’t supposed to compete with the other teams in the Big Ten West division this season.
However, right now, the Fighting Illini are 2-0 and have the chance to go 3-0 with a victory over Eastern Michigan this coming Saturday. That’s all coach Lovie Smith wants.
To go 3-0:
#illini Lovie: We want to be 3-0. That's been one of our goals. We have a worthy opponent. Excited about coming back home.

In order to go 3-0, Smith brought up the fact that Eastern Michigan is no joke. A season ago, they made a bowl game. A season ago, they beat Purdue at Purdue.
